How We Help
“We treat the cause, not the symptom. Everyone deserves that level of investment from their health care team.” – Dr. Ashton Begg
Founded in 1890’s by D.D. Palmer, chiropractic as an alternative to traditional medicine that focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing disorders of the musculoskeletal system – with the thought that misalignments or disorders in the system disrupts the nervous system and further, affects general health.
What does this mean to you?
After spending the afternoon planting new flowers, it’s time to water them. You grab the hose from the garage, connect it to the spicket, turn the water on, and are promptly confused when water does not automatically flow out the other side. You confirm that you did indeed turn the water on and begin to walk the length of the hose. Something must be causing a disruption of the flow of water you need to water your newly rehoused plants.
Alas, about 3/4 of the way down the hose, you find your problem: a kink! The hose had been stored in such a way that a really tight kink formed and it was tight enough that it was stopped anything from passing through it – including water. Imagine that hose is your spine, imagine the inside of that hose is your nervous system, and then imagine that the water represents the electrical signals your body sends back and forth to and from your brain.
Middle school biology taught us that our brain is a big switch board. Gathering information at mind blowing speeds from every part of our bodies, it makes split second decisions on whether we should cross the street now or after the car passes, it tells us when we’re cold, hot, hungry, in pain, in trouble. All of these messages are sent through roadways in our body to our spine, which delivers it straight to the top. It’s the spine that is the at the epicenter of chiropractic care.
What We Believe
We believe that in order for your brain to function at it’s high capacity, it must have access to the most up-to-date and accurate information from the rest of your body. In addition to simply ensuring that your brain can function, we see the life-altering effects that a misaligned spine, neck, joint, or bone has on our patients’ lives.
We know this maybe an over-simplified explanation of chiropractic care, but we invite you to make an appointment with us and let’s discuss how chiropractic care can benefit you and your family.
