Myofascial release is a therapy technique often used in a massage with the focus on releasing muscular shortness and tightness. This technique focuses on the pain caused by hard membranes that wrap around and support muscles called myofascial tissues. These pain points are often associated as “trigger points.”
What to expect
During your myofascial release session, our doctors will locate myofascial areas using light to medium manual pressure and stretching. The process is repeated multiple times on the same trigger point until the tension is fully released. This process of loosening restricted movement leads to reduced pain.
